When it comes together and a fish eats your lure in clear water, you will see it all happen right in front of you.
On a fly trip, everything revolves around light, wind, tide, and position. We work classic Islamorada flats, edges, and backcountry shorelines where fish travel, feed, and lay up. Most of the time, you will be on the bow with a fly rod in hand, watching for tails, wakes, pushes, or laid-up fish. We move quietly, set up the right angles, and talk you through the shot. It is controlled, deliberate, and intense. When the fish turns, tracks, and finally eats the fly, you will remember it for a long time. If you want a true technical challenge on the flats and in the backcountry with a fly rod, this is the trip.
What You’ll Experience
- Departure timed around best light and tides for sight-fishing with a fly rod.
- Cruise to selected flats, edges, channels, or backcountry zones holding the target species for that season.
- Time on the bow with a fly rod rigged and ready, scanning with the captain for fish or signs of movement.
- Clear direction on where the fish is, how far, what angle, and when to cast.
- Shots at rolling tarpon, tailing bonefish, cruising permit, or snook and redfish working shorelines and mangroves, depending on conditions.
- The eat, the strip strike, and then hard runs and jumps that will test both your knots and your nerves.

Vessel: 23′ Sea Craft Open Fisherman (stable, dry ride, with canvas T-top for shade)
Capacity: Up to 6 anglers
Trip Durations: ½ day, ¾ day, and full-day trips chosen based on target species, time of year, and how far we need to run.
